Leadership Boulder County and the Boulder Public Library Master Plan
As part of Leadership Boulder County (LBCO), a project team was formed to help the Master Plan Committee gather usage information from non- and low-library users. As the research plan develops, it appears that we will also be able to gather information from and about current users, as well. The scope has expanded considerably since the Daily Camera agreed to run a survey in the newspaper and add it to their Web site. (Sue Deans, Editor of the Daily Camera, championed that effort!)
The LBCO team includes:
- Sue Deans (Daily Camera)
- Nino Gallo (Community Action Programs)
- Derek Kiernan-Johnson (Caplan & Ernest)
- Sharon King (Boulder Chamber of Commerce/SBDC)
- Sharon Rowley (Faegre & Benson)
- Jeff Van Damme (Alpine Audio Visual)
- Anne Watson (Foothills United Way)
Project Description:1. Each team member did an informal survey of 5-6 people; results compiled for January 26 Master Plan Committee meeting
2. Team currently developing long format survey for BPL review by January 25
3. Once reviewed, edited, tested and translated into Spanish, the long survey will be uploaded to these Web sites:
Boulder Public Library
Daily Camera
Boulder Chamber of Commerce
(approval in process)
4 To increase survey responses, the team will use other communication vehicles/channels send readers to Web site or get direct responses
5. E-mail (targeted lists, team member contacts)
6. Hard copy at Boulder Public Library, Boulder Chamber, others TBD
7. Hard copy at Boulder Public Library Open House
8. In consideration: mail survey to segments not yet reached (?)
9. Additional LBCO team plans are in consideration
10. Responses will be compiled and analyzed (survey program enables cross-tabulation of responses by various criteria)
LBCO team will present findings, recommendations and "food for thought" to Boulder Public Library.
